Company Operations

The company’s main operations for producing cement and clinker are carried out through its plant located in Rabigh, north of Jeddah, and near the company’s main markets. Due to the growing demand for cement, a new line (Line 5) was added in 1417H (1996) with a production capacity of 4,000 tons of clinker per day, bringing the plant’s total design capacity to 8,000 tons of clinker per day. In 1430H (2009), an additional expansion (Line 6) was added with advanced technology and a production capacity of 7,000 tons of clinker per day, replacing the four old lines. This increased the plant’s design capacity to 11,000 tons of clinker per day. Continuous operational improvements have resulted in high operational and performance rates, boosting the company’s plant production capacity to 12,200 tons of clinker per day, equivalent to 13,000 tons of ordinary Portland cement per day.

In 1428H (2007), the company established Al-Qatrana Cement in the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan (with 86.74% ownership) with advanced technology and a production capacity of 5,000 tons of clinker per day, equivalent to 5,300 tons of ordinary Portland cement per day. The company entered the commercial operation phase in 2011.
